My uncle, Mark Lee Younce and his wife were murdered on March 16th, 1970. He was stationed at Ft. Jackson, Kingsville So. Carolina. 1st U.S. Army, Company A, 19th Battalion, 5th Training Brigade, U.S.ATC Armored division. His car was found burned two weeks after he was AWOL. Incendiary devices were found to be the cause of death. The militaries poor excuse for an investigation left the case unsolved and closed. Investigating officers were, Paul E. Eide, 1st Lt. of AGC. Serial no. 502484068. Commander Carl A. Robinson, Major,AGC, 414402062. Hugh W. Hastings was Captain of AGC. Sheriffs dept. Capt. Lavern, Columbia, So. Carolina. My uncle, Mark Lee Younce was leaving for C.I.D. training two weeks from the time of his death. The family feels that the military, or someone within his divisions were responsible.
