The same thing happens to me with lights. Not just street lights, but I notice them more often. The most remarkable thing happened, just last Thursday. I have been watching street lights blinking out for about three years now. One in particular is near my house and I have taken to thanking my Guardian Angel every time it and every other light blinks out. Last Thursday I went to see the movie 'City of Angels' for the second time (trust me, walk out after the shower/breakfast scene near the end -- it goes downhill fast after that.) As I left the theater, I wondered to myself where my Guardian Angel was and at that very moment, four street lights in the parking lot, all on different poles, all blinked out at the exact same time. Pretty strange, but what a great feeling! Please let me know if you know of any other reasons that this happens. I've heard the over-heated lamp bit, but I don't buy it. Thanks -
