I am looking for a lost friend. In 1977 I came to Kansas to stay with my grandparents for a summer. While there I made a friend named Kermit Walker who lived with his younger brother Nicholas and his ailing mother. At the time we would have been around 18 years of age. In 1979 I returned to Kansas to try to make a life there. Kermit and I rekindled our friendship. His moter was not well and was in the process of moving to Idaho. His younger brother was sent to live with their older brother Tom in Hopkinsville Ky. Kermit had no place to go. I took Kermit back to Nebraska with me and my parents let him stay there while he tried to put his life together. He lived there for almost a year. Later that year I met a girl and was going to get married and move to Calif. Kermit wanted to go to Ca also because he wanted to try to find relatives he knew lived there. I informed him that once there he was on his own and that he would have to sink or swim. I dropped him off in San Jose. Kermit frequently called my parents back in Nebraska to check in and kept in touch with me. He was crashing here and there but could never get on his feet. One day while at work he called me and said that he had been arrested for public intoxication and was in an alcohol treatment center in San Jose. I went to visit him and he said that once out he was going home to Kansas. Several weeks later my 'wife' and I seperated and I was going to move to Colorado. It was night time and I stopped by the center where he was at but visiting hours were over and they would not let me see him. I gave them a message for him to call me in Cheyenne Wy. at a hotel in three days. He never called. If fact there was not further contact at all. He never called my parents and I have never heard from him since. I contacted his brother in Hopkinsville several times. At one point I was told that they didn't give a &%$# where Kermit was and for me to never call again. I have never been able to contact his younger brother Nicholas who would now be in his early thirtys. Kermit was heavy set and went by the nickname 'FROG'. He would now be around thirtyeight years of age and may be homeless. He grew up in and around Bronson and Moran Kansas. Anyone knowing of his whereabouts or demise is asked to write me at Print Express 108 So. Washington Iola, KS. 66749 or E-Mail me at PrintExpres@aceks.com Why we are looking for them:Kermit was a good friend and was abandoned by his family. He was like a brother to me and I have worried about him since I left Ca.
