Just barely 18, in 1964 I moved to San Francisco where my brother introduced me to a group of girls he knew. One of them, Carleen Allen who was 20 that year, agreed to get an apartment together. We found a 4 bedroom flat for the price that most of the others cost for only a one bedroom. So, we rented it and each found one more girl to share it with us. The four of us - Dolores Barba, Barbara Jensen, myself - Sharon Davis, and Carleen Allen - all young, alone and far away from our families helped, supported, and looked out after each other, and grew into women together. Later, I and Dolores went to El Paso and planned to return but never did. Barbara got married and left and Carleen stayed in San Francisco at that time. Later after the other three of us were married and had children, she decided to move to Boston. She was still living there about 1975 or so and still unmarried. I divorced and so did Barbara and both of us moved and changed phone numbers a lot. This was a bad period in my life, the others were going through changes too. I regret that I lost touch with both Barbara and Carleen at this time. I seemed to be the one that held the group in contact with each other. Last year, I tried to find them through the internet and successfully located Barbara. However, I was unable to figure out a way to find Carleen. When our living arrangements in San Francisco were dissolved, we always discussed having a reunion in the future. We never dreamed it would take so long. Now, I am on disability due to injuries received in a series of auto accidents and returned to Dallas, TX to live near my older son. Barbara has also been disabled due to an accident/fall and other health issues. She lives with her older son in San Antonio, TX. Dolores is still married and in El Paso. We would love to be reunited with our other friend/roommate and with each other. Those were the best years of my adult life and something is missing when someone who was such a major part of it is missing from our lives. We would love to plan a reunion this next year. Now that three of us are in Texas it seems to be meant to be. If only we could find Carleen. Can you help? Carleen was born in New Orleans, graduated high school from Stockton, California. She had red hair which was usually chin to shoulder length and blunt cut, green or grey eyes, is about 5'6' tall and used to be very thin. She is a Sagitarrius astro sign, but I do not know the exact birthdate. I was born in July of 1946 as was Barbara. Carleen was about two years older as was Dolores. Can you help us find Carleen and bring about our reunion? It has been thirty years since we have all been together. The other person who was a big part of our group was my ex-fiance Jerry McWhorter. The others would like him to be a part of the reunion, too, but I'm not sure he would be willing as I understand he is married and living in Southern California. I have not had the nerve to call him. Because of these friendships, I gradually turned into a secure, happy, confident young woman. As I mentioned, these were the happiest days of my life. The memories of these times and what we shared together sustained me through the difficult years that came after.
