The old homeplace of my father's family was haunted. My dad grew up in eastern KY and his family moved into the house in the 1940's. People had died there, including a little boy who was thought to have been deliberately killed by his sister. A lot of odd things happened there, such as hearing someone coming in and walking through the house late at night and the sound of dogs pacing on the porch even with the gate to the porch closed so dogs couldn't enter. Once my brother-in-law slept on the couch and awoke because he was cold to find his blankets floating in mid-air above him. In the front bedroom, people have said they felt the pressure of someone sitting on the end of the bed. Once my aunt and uncle were sleeping there and something was laying on top of my aunt and choking her til my uncle awoke and kicked it off. I had two experiences there. Once I was sleeping on the couch when I heard the front door open, someone wiping off his feet, walking over to warm! himself by the fire, and spitting into the fire. I turned over to see who it was and no one was there. Another time, I heard two people in the kitchen talking about cooking breakfast and rattling pans and such. I got up to see who was cooking in the middle of the night. Of course, the kitchen was dark and no one was there. These incidences kept occurring until my aunt performed a do-it-yourself exorcism. The hauntings stopped. How it changed my life:I am more inclined to believe in ghosts or some other spiritual entities.
