Were I too glance at the sky for even a few minuites I should be suprised NOT to see 'shooting star'. The earth is constantly collecting vast quantities of space debris and anyone who assumes that the event you describe is in some way non-trivial has made the fundamental error of placing sentiment before reasonable judgement. |

That is a very real ocurrence, and not hard to believe at all, to anyone who disbelieves this story, try God. I definitely believe that was a direct answer to your prayer, and I hope anyone who reads it will seek God, and find Him! Jeremiah 29.13 to the entry on 11/16/99 at 7.06 pm: its blasphemy to not give acknowledgement to God for what He's done, and there is only ONE God, the TRUE God, and the only way to Him is through Christ Jesus! |

Something similar to the writer's experience happened to me about 3 weeks after my mother's death 5 years ago. I was working the night shift at a hospital swichboard and the man that I relieved that night had brought some reading material in for me to read (for the quiet downtime of the shift) He said that at the last moment he had decided to bring in Embraced By the Light for me. Naturally I started to read this first as it dealt with a near death experience and the writer's vision of heaven. The description of the afterlife was truly beautiful. I was also concerned about where my recently deceased mother was, was she OK? I had, for the 3 weeks after her death, been saying a prayer of sorts...Ma, where are you? Are you all right? Is there more to life than just life? Where do we go after we die? About 3am in the morning, Security relieved me and I went outside to have a cigarette. It was a warm, sultry, humid, still night. The world around me outside the ER door was silent. Not a breath of a breeze. I stood there in the darkness and said my prayer, Ma, I think that you have given me an answer to my question with the book that I am reading about heaven. At that very instant there was a brilliant flash of lightning, immediately followed by loud thunder and almost simultaneously, the sky opened up and rain began to pour down in a torrent. At that moment I was filled with such a feeling of comfort. But I still wonder about the existance of the hereafter, even though some of my friends tell me that I witnessed a miracle, and that I was given absolute proof. But I keep questionning myself as to how it happened... did I hear thunder rumbling off in the distance before I said my prayer ? Was it all a coincidence? I definitely did not see or hear lightening or thunder before my realization. For a while I believed and then as time passed I did not believe anymore. And I truly wonder where one finds faith. |
