Controlling Presence Conquered with Prayers

I don't know how to catagorize this event, but when I lived in my parent's home, I used to take afternoon naps in my brother's room when no one was home. He had a stereo that I could listen to and relax. There were several instances where I couldn't wake up. I would feel as if something were pressing down on my legs and wouldn't let me get up. I would freeze. I felt as if it were an evil presence that were controling me, it knew that I was scared. One day, I decided to experiment. I took a nap in that same room (BTW, it wasn't cold), and again, the presence came. Because it wouldn't let me look at it, and it held me down as much as possible, I began to pray. I kept repeating the prayer until it stopped. Now everytime I feel a presence in that house, I just pray, and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Growing up with a very superstitous mother, I was always the skeptical one in the bunch aside from my father. With certain events that have occurred in my parent's home, I don't doubt that there are negative and positive spirits that won't rest.
