Alice fell down the hole

she chose to go,

yes, she did choose to go

unchartered territories

a tempting diversion

she chased that elusive rabbit

the one that promised so much

a life free of pain and strife

a existance based on lie

she chased that elusive rabbit

she would find him soon enough

her senses aroused

a little more then she could take

did she jump to soon

did she make a mistake

her soul gave a tremble

a fear took ahold

was it stupidity to be so bold

as to look for a light in a dank dark hole?

The rabbit she found he did a quick turn

his face a monstocity don't trust bunnies,

a lesson quick learned

he sneered at her trust and laughed in her face

'you can't be so niave to think life so simple

that one easy fix will fix this pickle'

‘take this’ said the figure dressed up in the white suit

it will make you feel better and happy to boot

she took it in trust a big mistake

never trust bunnies that seem so safe

She wandered around

her senses on overload

her mind reeling, her heart racing

a new feeling; afraid

Alice never showed any fear

she was strong and full of might

the demons that plagued her always took flight

but not this night

not the night she jumped in the hole.

her thoughts were muddled

her feelings misplaced

who was she now and how did she get back

to where she once was.

The bunny rattled his bag

said "is there more you wish you had?'

'No', she replied with a twisted face.

"what else could you give that I have not had?'

A mistake was made

one that could be fixed

but not with a simple wish

or a wave of the wand or a magic pill

a journey was started but she stood still

Alice sat and drank tea

and pondered her thoughts

when she did she give up

the fight was within her deep in her soul

digging deep would be hard

as the soil of her spirit was now dark and cold

She jumped in the hole,

this was her fault

now she must find a way out

but how do you jump UP a hole?

this came out in literally about five minutes. it is not the best and I am sure I could edit it. i wanted opinions on it. do you see any symbolism (what i meant or what you think) critique...honest, ect.

Date: 5/13/2008 4:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 27623    I should say, be careful with who you trust!
Date: 5/13/2008 4:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 27623    I think it's pretty awesome. I've had those feelings before. When you dig your own hole, you have to find your way out, and never be soooo trustworthy of others.
Date: 5/13/2008 4:49:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    thanks curious...for responding. I jumped in a hole that was made for me by a suicide and medication. the rabbit is the doctor....and ya...that is the symbolism. plus the fact that the strong person I was was lost. I am thinking about adding to this....my daughter thinks it is already to long:P
Date: 5/13/2008 5:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 63725    It is never too long if it states what is needed to be stated. I get the symbolism. Great poem and trust.
Date: 5/13/2008 7:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    cblossom :) I agree with Peacelover. Poetry, for me, is a form of expression and release. Thirty seven pages is not too long, if that is what it takes. Stay strong and keep writing, my friend.

Date: 5/14/2008 5:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 10245    how do you jump UP a hole? springs on your boots, maybe? ;o) or you climb and claw. Getting IN the hole is always easier then getting out.
Date: 5/14/2008 6:22:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    yes mercury..tis easily to fall down then get back up.
