Guests in Room 219 have reported seeing the apparition of an elderly gentleman who just sits quitely in a chair. Students who walk by his window report hearing him reciting poetry. The cultured ghost is thought to be Professor Henry Stephens, who died in 1919. He had lived in the room for 20 yrars. In 1974, a visiting Japanese scholar, Noriyuki Tokuda, reported seeing Stephens sitting in a chair in Room 219. Then later that same evening, he saw "something like two heads floating, flying high across the room". Hauck, p.31 How it changed my life:Two heads floating, hummm, sounds almost "Zen like".
