I was 14 miles from home visiting a friend when I thought it was about time to head for home. I guess it was somewhere around 11:00 PM. I said my goodnights and headed down the stairs to my car that was parked across the street. I climbed into the car and started it when a sudden intense feeling of dread flooded me. The first thing that popped into my mind was, 'I'm not supposed to leave yet.' I thought it might be some kind of premonition of a comming disaster, like a car accident. So, while the car warmed up, I got out because the feeling wouldn't go away as I sat waiting. I moved to the rear of the car where the exhaust could warm my legs as I finished my cigarette. Even though the feeling of dread lessened, it did not dissipate. When I finished my cigarette, which takes about 7 minutes, I turned the car off and went back up stairs to sit in the warmth of my friends house until that feeling went away. As I turned to go to the house I not! iced his lights were out. Even tnough I assumed he went to bed, I knew he wouldn't be asleep after only about 7 minutes. When I knocked on the door, my friend answered. He looked as though he had been in bed for hours. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes to reveal confusion and the look on his face suggested the question, 'What are you doing back here so late?' The dread soon passed and I headed out to my car and home. Needless to say, I drove very carefully that night in an attempt to avoid an accident, which I did. It wasn't until years later that I started to think about the look on my friends face and how unusual it was for him to have gone to bed that early that night. Having never looked at the time during all of this, I can't say for certain, but was this a 'missing time' incident? How it changed my life: The incident set me on a path of belief in missing time and the UFO phenomina.
